Кто как, а я визуал, то есть для меня в любой вещи наиболее важны форма и цвет. Мир я воспринимаю в основном глазами, поэтому живопись, архитектура и литература для меня основные из искусств (причём красота текста иногда доставляет больше удовольствия, чем содержание книги). Собственно, пристрастие к Инстаграму –  тоже прямое следствие такого устройства меня.

Для визуала Болонья представляет собой идеальное место. Такого буйства красок я не припомню, пожалуй, нигде. Разноцветные французские городки напоминают поздравительные открытки, а вот Болонья – это огромное полотно маслом кисти какого-нибудь Гогена в его Таитянский период. Сочетание жёлтого, оранжевого и розового сокрушает наповал!

I’m a visual type of person, so form and color of things are really important for me. I perceive the world through my eyesight, that’s why I’m particularly interested in painting, architecture and literature (the last one is not exactly “visual” category of art but sometimes the beauty of the text is more important then the content). I think that my Instagram addiction is also a consequence of this property.

For a visual person Bologna is an ideal place. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a bright city before. Small colorful cities in France look like postcards, but Bologna is an oïl painting of Paul Gauguin in his Tahitian period. The mixture of orange, yellow and pink just strike your imagination!

К этим базовым цветам творчески добавляются вкрапления зелёного, синего и белого. Все эти сочетания живо напоминают мне Незнайку с его незабываемым галстуком!

To those basic colors the splashes of green, blue and white are added. It makes me think of Dunno (Neznayka) and his unforgettable tie!

Вся Болонья покрыта граффити. На стенах идёт живое общение, двери обращаются к тебе с изречениями на разных языках мира, колонны интригуют таинственными знаками. Удивительно, но рисунки и надписи повсюду не вызывают ощущение неряшливости. Они как-то гармонично вписываются в окружающую древность и даже придают городу определённый шарм.

Bologna is covered by graffiti. The walls communicate with you and the doors try to tell you something in different languages. You can read poetries and quotes, notice mysterious signs and portraits… Surprisingly the graffiti abundance doesn’t make the city look untidy. On the contrary, the graffiti are in some kind of harmony with the old walls and even add charm and cosiness to Bologna.

Ещё одно сильное впечатление от Болоньи – невероятно сложная архитектура. Колоннады и портики, галереи и аркады – город продуман до мелочей и приспособлен к жаркой погоде. Можно весь день ходить по улицам в тени и ни разу не выйти на солнце. Если с первого взгляда Болонья кажется клубком запутанных улиц и разноцветных разномастных домов, то внутри улиц-аркад царит неожиданная симметрия и даже некоторая торжественность…

The architecture of Bologna made one more strong impression on me. The city is perfectly adapted to the Italian hot weather. You can walk the whole day in the shadow of the vaults of arcades, passageways and porticos without getting out in the sunlight. On first sight Bologna seems to be a confusion of streets without order, but inside of the passageways you feel the symmetry, calmness and even solemnity of the city.

Болонья – глубоко христианский город, в котором религиозные элементы органически вписаны практически в каждое строение, улицу или площадь. Куда ни посмотри – барельеф на библейскую тему или статуэтка святого, не говоря уж о великолепных древних храмах на каждом углу и памятниках святым отцам. Что, правда, не мешает скульптуре Нептуна уверенно возвышаться на главной площади и служить пристанищем для стай голубей.

Bologna is a deeply christian city and you can see the signs of it everywhere. There are religious bas-reliefs in every passageway, small and big sculptures of saints and Popes and of course many magnificent Roman style cathedrals. At the same time the sculpture of the Roman sea god Neptune is installed on one of the main squares of the city and serves a refuge to the flocks of lazy and impertinent pigeons.

За что я люблю Италию, так это за отличный кофе латте в любой забегаловке. Конечно, это уже не кофе с молоком, а молоко с кофе, так что настоящие кофеманы меня за это пристрастие могут сурово осудить, но ничего не могу с собой поделать – отдам полцарства за хороший латте макьято. Во Франции найти его чрезвычайно сложно!

I adore Italian latte macchiato. It’s not French coffee with milk but on the contrary, milk with coffee. The true coffeemans may disapprove me for this passion for “weak and soft” coffee but I really find it perfect for evenings. I should notice that it’s very hard to find latte macchiato in France, so I’m happy to order it in every Italian bar.

Отдельно нужно сказать о Болонье-виде-сверху: это прекрасная картина, полная черепичных крыш и цветущих балкончиков. Самый обширный обзор открывается с одной из двух “падающих” башен, но хочу обратить внимание, что вид с террасы моего отеля Best Western San Donato был умопомрачительный, все достопримечательности как на ладони и красота необычайная, поэтому завтрак у меня там занимал в два раза больше времени, чем обычно:) Для тех, кто ценит завтраки с видом так же, как ценю их я, этот отель совершенно незаменим! Нужно еще добавить, что он расположен в самом центре города, практически на площади Двух башен.

I’d lke to say a few words about Bologna city view from above. A very spectacular one is from the top of the highest of two falling towers. You can see the whole city – an ocean of orange tiling roofs with some green spots and also the hills around Bologna. To admire another wonderful view on the city I didn’t need to go far – it was the one from the terrace of my hotel Best Western San Donato. All the main sightseens of Bologna were just in front of this terrace and because of this amazing panorama the breakfast took me two times longer then usually. For those who appreciate breakfasts with you as much as I do that hotel will be beyond expectations! The hotel is situated in the historical center of the city, almost on the square of the two towers.
