I got used to organize my holidays myself, choosing all the restaurants, locations, and activities one by one, but my experience at Amada Colossos Resort showed me how good it could feel leaving vacation organization to the professionals. Together with my Mum we spent one week in this five-star luxury hotel on Rhodes enjoying impeccable service, excellent cuisine and breathtaking view over Aegean Sea. To be honest, the biggest problem was to find motivation to leave this oasis and go explore the island – which is very much worth it!
Here’re seven things about Amada Colossos Resort I loved the most:
1. VIP treatment of Diamond Ultra All-Inclusive guests
We opted for Diamond Ultra All-Inclusive which offers to the guests an important number of advantages and extras. The advantages started immediately after our arrival to Amada Colossos Resort : we skipped the line at the reception and made our checking at the Executive Lounge, quickly and efficiently. This calm and comfortable area is reserved to Diamond All-Inclusive and Elite Collection guests only, which means you can retire there whenever you need privacy. There’s an option to have breakfast at the Executive Lounge, and I should say for me it was priceless: I’m not an early bird and I prefer to avoid any communication before the first cup of coffee! Relaxing atmosphere of the Executive Lounge was exactly what I was looking for in the morning – and pancakes served for breakfast there were divine! Well, apart pancakes one could find a large selection of healthy breakfast options such as avo toasts, poached eggs, scrambled eggs and fruit plates. During the day Diamond All-Inclusive guests can also have a cocktail or a snack at the Executive Lounge.
Another important advantage included into Diamond All-Inclusive is a special area of the beach with an extra space between the beach beds. Thanks to this we could always find a place in the first line, just in front of the sea.
2. Amazing Sea-View Executive Suite
Facing the infinite blue of the Aegean Sea, the Executive Suite has everything to make you feel at home : cozy living room with a sofa, TV and mini bar; luxury bedroom with the comfiest bed, pillow selection and a huge mirror; spacious enter-in dressing; perfectly equipped bathroom where you can choose between bathtub and shower; and of course fantastic terrace overlooking the sea ! The windows in the Suite are wall-size, so you have impression to stay in some magical place between the sea and the sky, pierced by the sunshine but keeping cool and comfortable temperature (thanks to the powerful but absolutely noiseless air conditioning).
As for the interior of the suite, the designer kept it simple, minimalistic, and natural. I particularly appreciate the stylish details created with the recycled wood: not only they give a unique touch to the room but also reflect the eco-friendly concept of the hotel.
I also would love to mention Nespresso coffee machine equipped with a rich selection of coffee pods, free snacks and free refreshing drinks in the mini bar, as well as the high quality beauty and skincare products in the bathroom – to sum up, all these details which bring your stay at the hotel to the next level.
When we arrived, a bottle of bubbles and a fruit basket were waiting for us at our Suite. It was a lovely surprise and we greeted the beginning of our stay at Amada Colossos Resort with a glass of champagne on our gorgeous terrace!

3. Separate Adult Zones
The major problem in the big hotels is usually luck of calmness. As an adult with no kids, I always struggle to find my inner peace when children are running around. While I totally understand the pleasures of family vacation, I really appreciate when I have a possibility to sip my cocktail near the swimming pool without kids crying soundtrack! The good news is that Amada Colossos Resort territory is cleverly organized in order to avoid the conflicts between the interests of children and adult guests : the adults-only zones are available in the Main Restaurant and near the swimming pool, so that you can enjoy your meal and your pool day in the most relaxing conditions. Together with my Mum we found this approach very convenient!

4. Enormous 140m long swimming pool
I’ve rarely seen a swimming pool bigger than 50m (Olympic size). Let me think… Well I’ve actually NEVER seen a pool bigger than that! 140m is A LOT – for my morning swim before breakfast, I usually did just 5-6 lengths, and that was all. Divided into different zones : family part, ball games and adults only, the swimming pool is equipped with swim-up bars where you can grab a cocktail or soft, and decorated by the picturesque islands with the little trees (nicely illuminated at night). There’s also a Jacuzzi area offering even more relax.
Aqua aerobics activities are available for those who prefer group workouts – it’s not my cup of tea but looked rather fun from my balcony 🙂 I rather appreciated the hotel gym, even if I should be honest, I took a break from sport during my vacation.

5. Beach Gazebos
If you want to enjoy a luxurious beach experience, you definitely have to book a day at Beach Gazebos when staying at Amada Colossos Resort. We spent two days in a private gazebo, and it was unforgettable!
First of all, it should be precised that Amada Colossos has its exclusive beach with a separate zone for Diamond and Elite Collection guests. The 430m beach is equipped with the sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as the changing cabins and showers.
The wooden gazebos are available with prior reservation. Two services during the day are included: we got a bottle of bubbles, refreshing drinks and a fruit plate at 11am and an early aperitif at 4pm. We really appreciated staying in the gazebo, it gave us extra privacy and comfort and we felt ourselves as VIP as possible!:)

6. Unique culinary experience
Let’s be honest: food is always an important part of vacation and criteria for choosing a hotel. As Diamond Ultra All-Inclusive Collection guests, we enjoyed an unlimited access to all the restaurants and bars of the resort, including three à la carte restaurants and the Executive Lounge.
The Main Restaurant, divided into family and adults only areas, offers an enormous selection of cold and hot starters, mains and desserts, including healthy options and Greek specialties, as well as fresh fruits, soft and alcoholic drinks, tea and coffee. Everything is super fresh, and the choice is so huge that you can spend a week in the hotel without eating the same things! My favorite options were a cheese plate, a fish-only selection of the starters, a simple but always delicious Greek salad and a home-made mille-feuille (I know, it’s not a Greek traditional sweet but it was so perfectly made at Amada Colossos Resort, directly in front of the guests!).
Three à la carte restaurants are specialized in Greek, Italian and Asian cuisine. Honestly, it’s hard to choose between them and say which one I preferred – food and service were great in all the three! A little preference can be given to the Greek one, just because I love eating local on vacation and because I adore Greek starters (meze) : tzatziki, olives, Greek fava (split pea purée), grilled octopus, dolmades…
7. Amada Wellness Spa
Beach days are pure pleasure, but they can be challenging for our skin and hair. I love getting tan and swimming in the sea but after vacation I usually must take a couple of appointments at the beauty salon… Spa treatments at Amada Colossos Resort allowed me to keep my skin moisturized and to come home glowing, even with a fresh manicure ! I tried a relaxing massage with aromatic oil, it felt so good after the day of swimming and nourished my skin perfectly. I should add that the beauty products used at Amada Colossos Resort spa are French, of the highest quality.
___________
As I told you at the beginning of the article, the main problem with staying at Amada Colossos Resort was finding motivation to leave this oasis of peace and to go exploring the island! Together with my Mum we went to visit the Old Town of Rhodes included into UNESCO Heritage list. We walked in the narrow medieval streets, admired the architecture and were lucky to capture the best light during the golden hour. Here’re a few photos to make you feel the atmosphere of the place:
