Мне посчастливилось работать на самой элегантной улице Парижа (а возможно, и мира) – Елисейских полях. После четырёх лет я знаю это место, как свои пять пальцев, или, как говорят французы, как свой карман. А что, если провести на Елисейских полях целый день?..  Уверена – вы не заскучаете;)

I’m lucky to work on the most beautiful street of Paris (and probably one of the most beautiful streets in the world), the avenue des Champs Elysées. It’s one of my favourite areas in the city and I know it like the back of my hand – or, as French people say, like my pocket;) For the guests of Paris this area is a must-see, but what if you spent the whole day on the Champs Elysées? I’m sure you wouldn’t be bored! Even more: it might be just your ideal day…;)

1. Хороший отель – залог успеха любой поездки. Как ни странно, на Елисейских полях есть только один (!) пятизвёздочный отель, Marriott Champs Elysées. Ни один из остальных отелей, расположенных поблизости, не имеет заветного адреса на самой знаменитой парижской авеню. Такое место расположения даёт Марриотту очевидное преимущество – великолепный вид из окна, а в некоторых номерах (категории SkyLine View) – с балкона. Здание, в котором находится отель, занесено в список исторических памятников и было построено в начале XX века Луи Виттоном для своего магазина. Позже Виттон переехал в другое здание чуть ближе к Триумфальной арке, а по адресу Елисейские поля, 70 обосновался Марриотт.

1. A perfect hotel is the key to the success of your trip. Surprisingly, only one 5 stars hotel, Marriott Champs Elysées is situated exactly on the famous avenue – the other hotels in the area don’t have the address on the Champs Elysées. Marriott offers you a gorgeous view on the famous avenue, through the huge classical French windows or even from a balcony (available in the SkyLine View room). The hotel is situated in the elegant building which previously hosted the luxury Louis Vuitton’s shop. Its frontage is a historical monument combining classical and modern styles, but inside the construction is entirely renovated. A perfect point to start your day on the Champs Elysées!

2. Невозможно побывать в Париже и не выпить чаю в кондитерской Ladurée, которая как раз расположена на Елисейских полях! Зал на втором этаже выглядит совершенно по-королевски, а летом напротив кафе открывают очень симпатичную летнюю террасу. Несмотря на то, что Ladurée знаменита своими макронс, мне у них больше нравятся пирожные и мороженое, а макаронс лучше приобрести у Pierre Hermé. Его магазин находится недалеко, тоже на Елисейских полях, в торговом центре Drugstore (Елисейские поля, 133). Каждый сезон знаменитый кондитер выпускает новые коллекции вкусов – как вам, например, макаронс с ванилью и оливковымаслом? А с фуа-гра?

2. Don’t miss the most famous pastry shop of Paris, Ladurée, which is also situated on the avenue des Champs Elysées. The tea room on the 2nd floor looks like a hall in a palace and there’s also a nice outside terrasse in front of the entrance in summer. Ladurée is famous by its macarons but I’d rather recommend their pastries and ice-cream. As for the macarons, I prefer the ones of Pierre Hermé. The good news is that you can buy them on the Champs Elysées! Drugstore, a huge shop near the Arc de Triomphe (133 Champs Elysées), hosts a small Pierre Hermé store where you can find his classical tastes and new collections. What about olive oïl – vanilla macarons? Or macarons with foie gras?

3. Что касается культурной программы, на Елисейских полях стоит посетить Большой и Малый дворцы. Оба они были построены десятилетием позднее, чем Эйфелева башня, в рамках подготовки к Всемирной выставке в Париже в 1900 году.

Большой дворец сегодня – это экспо центр, в котором постоянно проходят интересные фотовыставки, выставки живописи и разные масштабные мероприятия вроде фестиваля высокой кухни Вкус Парижа, о котором я писала раньше.

Малый дворец – музей изящных искусств, выставляющий полотна голландских и французских мастеров, а также предметы интерьера. Открою небольшой секрет: во внутреннем дворе Малого дворца (а вернее будет сказать, во внутреннем саду) есть небольшое, но очень уютное кафе, где можно сесть за столик у фонтана и выпить кофе, любуясь зеленью и прекрасной архитектурой. Полное впечатление, что находишься где-то в парке, а не в самом центре столицы!

3. For the cultural program I suggest that you visit an exhibition hall the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais, a museum, both situated on the famous avenue.

The Grand Palais is an amazing constuction, a fusion of classical style and Art Nouveau. Like the Eiffel Tower, it was erected during the preparation to the Universal Exhibition (but a bit later, in 1900) and destinated to host the most important cultural events of Paris. There are always interesting exhibitions there; for example, recently an international gastronomy festival Taste of Paris took place in the Grand Palais (more détails in my article here).

The Petit Palais was constructed together with the Grand Palais, just in front of it. Today it’s a museum of Fine Arts. One tip for you: the Petit Palais has a charming coffee shop situated in its courtyard, or, better to say, secret garden. The ambience there is calm and relaxing, you can have a table near a fountain and slowly sip your coffee, feeling yourself in a park rather than in the center of the capital.

4. Если есть желание пережить настоящее гастрономическое приключение, можно зарезервировать столик в мишленовском ресторане L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon (Елисейские поля, 133). Концепт этого заведения – так называемая “открытая кухня” – состоит в том, что, ожидая свой заказ, можно наблюдать за приготовлением пищи. Это захватывающе! Классическое меню состоит из семи небольших порций, что позволяет попробовать все “знаковые” блюда шеф-повара.

Хороший гастрономический ресторан для ланча находится не точно на Елисейских полях, но буквально в двух шагах, по адресу 6 Rue Arsène Houssaye, и называется Citrus Etoile. За основу меню принята классическая французская кухня, но блюда выполнены креативно, по оригинальным рецептам шеф-повара. Столик здесь лучше бронировать заранее – свободных мест обычно не бывает.

4. If you are looking for a gastronomy experience, book a table at L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon (133 avenue des Champs Elysées), one star Michelin restaurant. It offers his guests a unique opportunity to observe the meal preparation in the kitchen and to see the chefs at work. I like the degustation concept in this restaurant: the menu includes seven small portions so that you can taste different dishes.

A good restaurant for lunch is Citrus Etoile, a gastronomic restaurant near the Arc de Triomphe (6 Rue Arsène Houssaye). Its menu is French classics based, refined and just delicious. Better to book a table in advance.

5. Ночная жизнь в районе Елисейских полей очень насыщенная. Непосредственно на самой авеню находится ночной клуб Queen, но посоветую я лучше не его, а другие клубы, расположенные по соседству: Raspoutine, Matignon, L’Arc and Titty Twister – они мне гораздо больше нравятся. Первый из них, как понятно из названия, сделан в “русском” стиле, что подразумевает, в том числе, фейс-контроль. Как следствие, бронировать столик для входа в этот клуб обязательно. Преимущество Matignon в том, что там расположен ещё и модный ресторан, в котором можно вкусно поужинать под приятную лаундж-музыку. Танцпол клуба L’Arc оборудован открывающейся крышей, что летом особенно приятно. Titty Twister самый новый и самый молодёжный из всех, может похвастаться бильярдной и большой зоной для курения.

5. Nightlife is intensive in this part of Paris. I can’t suggest a club directly on the Champs Elysées (I’ve never been at Queen, the only one that has this address) but just a few steps from the avenue there are the famous ones: Raspoutine, Matignon, L’Arc and Titty Twister. The first one has a face control system, so you must reserve a table to enter. The second one, Matignon, has a good restaurant, so you can also have dinner there. L’Arc is famous by its openng roof – very nice in summer! And Titty Twister is the most “rock” one: it has a billiard table and a huge smoking zone.

По Елисейским полям приятно просто гулять, фотографировать красивые места, разглядывать витрины и что-нибудь покупать, а рано утром можно и пробежаться, пока никого нет. В общем, есть масса способов приятно провести время на этих двух (ну, почти двух:) самых элегантных в мире километрах суши! Может быть, их хватит не только на один, а даже на пару дней…

Well, you can also take photos, go shopping or simply jogging on the Champs Elysées (better in the morning, when it’s not crowded) – it dépends on your tastes and préférences;) Just enjoy almost 2 km of this elegant street and have a good time in Paris!
