Италию я люблю всю без остатка, но Тоскана занимает в моём сердце особенное место. Ничего удивительного в этом нет – в Тоскане хорошо всё, начиная с восхитительных ландшафтов и заканчивая Кьянти!
I love everything about Italy, but Tuscany has a special place in my heart. Its landscapes, directly from the old Italian masters’ paintings; its incredible sunsets and iconic Chianti wine – this region seems to accumulate absolutely all the elements of a dream country…
В октябре прошлого года мы с Солли поняли, что нам срочно нужен прилив вдохновения, и купили билеты в Италию. Поездку мы решили разбить на две части и провести половину времени во Флоренции, а половину – в тосканской провинции. Про Флоренцию будет отдельный рассказ, а пока хочу поделиться впечатлениями от очаровательных городков Тосканы и фотографиями уникальных пейзажей, которые заслуженно внесены в список наследия ЮНЕСКО.
In october of 2015 with Solli we felt a need of inspiration and took the tickets to Italy. We decided to divide our trip in two parts: to spend a few days in Florence and the rest of time in the italian countryside. In this article I will only talk about the “rural” part of the trip and show the photos of the amazing Tuscany valleys, hills and charming small towns. There are will be lots of exclamation marks and expressive adjectives, but I just can’t help myself using them when talking about this magical place…
Тоскана прекрасна вся, но особенная красота начинается в регионе Валь Д’Орча. Там дороги лениво извиваются между холмов, а кипарисы на фоне неба кажутся нарисованными. На закате цвета такие чистые, что сложно поверить своим глазам!
The whole Tuscany is beautiful like a fairy tale country, but the most famous landscapes (the ones that you see on the postcards) are situated in Val d’Orcia, the south part of the region which is included into UNESCO World Heritage list. These views were painted hundreds of times by the Renaissance masters and became a symbol of the rural idyll. The colors are so pure that seem unreal and the cypresses look like they are drawn on the sky…
Недалеко от деревни San Quirico d’Orcia находится одно из самых живописных мест Тосканы – вилла Бельведере, на которой в своё время снимали фильм “Гладиатор”. Это частное владение, правда, привратник рассказал, что хозяева приезжают редко и недавно выставили виллу на продажу за миллион евро. Мне кажется, для такого легендарного места цена довольно разумная;)
We absolutely wanted to see one of the most beautiful places of Tuscany – Villa Belvedere, where the Ridley Scott’s movie “Gladiator” was filmed. Indeed it’s worth to visit! The view from the terrace of the villa is breathtaking and when you imagine how should it feel like having your morning coffee in this place… The villa is private, and the guardian told us the owners didn’t often visit it. In fact, the house is for sale – are there any rich dreamers?;))
Визитная карточка Тосканы – это, конечно, кипарисовые аллеи, мечта любого фотографа. Они выглядят необыкновенно элегантно и изысканно! Если с Римом у меня ассоциируются силуэты пиний, то с Тосканой – однозначно кипарисы.
Cypresses are definitely the Tuscany’s visit card, like pines for Rome. The cypress alleys leading to the traditional Tuscany houses are one of the most elegant things I’ve ever seen!
Для путешествий по региону, конечно, нужна машина, и мы просто не могли не арендовать Фиат500. По мощности он, правда, больше похожа на велосипед, и на некоторые холмы поднимается с трудом (по крайней мере, в той комплектации, которая нам досталась), зато мы чувствовали себя крайне аутентичными, а Фиат с удовольствием позировал нам для фотографий.
Of course we decided to rent a Fiat 500, the most Italian car of all! I should say it was more photogenic than powerful but we liked it a lot and felt ourselves so perfectly integrated into italian life:) One time we took a wrong road and were blocked in the olive-wood, but with the help of the owner of our Airbnb accomodation we managed to get out of this difficulty…
Очарование Тосканы не только в природных ландшафтах, но и во множестве старинных городков и деревушек, рассыпанных по холмам и долинам. У нас было не так много времени, и его хватило только на то, чтобы заехать в Сиену, Пиенцу и Сан-Джиминьяно. Последний понравился мне больше всего – маленький городок, над которым возвышаются пять старинных башен, этаких средневековых небоскрёбов. Они выглядят настолько необычно – сложно поверить в то, что это частные жилища, возведённые состоятельными жителями в XII веке. Когда подходишь ближе, становится ясно, насколько это старые конструкции. Сейчас башни пустуют, и только птицы бесшумно кружат возле них, время от времени ныряя куда-то между камнями.
Tuscany has plenty of small towns and villages, climbing the hills and offering the incredible views. We hadn’t got lots of time to visit many of them, but we passed by San Gimignano, Pienza and Siena. The first one I liked most of all – a charming medieval town with surprisingly high towers on the main square. The towers create a unique silhouette of the town and they are very old, erected in 12th century as private houses. A kind of medieval skyscrapers, they look mysterious and suggestive. Today the towers are empty and only the birds fly around…
Сан-Джиминьяно знаменит своим особенным белым вином, которое производится из местного сорта винограда. Мы обнаружили на узкой улочке недалеко от центральной площади (впрочем, в Сан-Джиминьяно всё недалеко от центральной площади – городок крошечный) отличный винный бар Divineria di Massimo Delli, в котором продегустировали ароматное Верначча ди Сан-Джиминьяно с закусками из органических продуков – тартинками с овощами и козьим сыром.
San Gimignano is also famous by its white wine, produced from the grapes of the area. We discovered a charming wine bar Divineria di Massimo Delli in a small street right after the main square and made a little degustation… The wine was exquisite and the owner of the bar very welcoming and friendly. We also tasted there some crostini, topped with organic vegetables and goat cheese.
Я всегда восхищаюсь вниманию итальянцев к деталям и их способности обуютить любое место. Так трогательно, когда жители уделяют внимание не только своему дому, но и улице, на которой он находится! Общее впечатление и наше настоение зачастую зависят именно от незначительных элементов – горшков с цветами на окнах, разноцветных табличек с номерами домов, декоративных фигурок… Это мелочи, но они согревают город и делают его приветливым.
I always admire the small decorations and lots of flowers in Italian towns. It’s so tuching when people take care not only of their house but also of the street where this house is situated! The whole impression often depends on the details, that’s why we should pay more attention to the small things. They can seems insignificant but they influence our mood, even if it seems we don’t notice. By the way, I really think using Instagram develops our capacity to appreciate the beuty of details and ordinary things, makes our eyes more attentive.
В Тоскану я буду возвращаться снова и снова… И может быть, однажды назову это место своим домом – кто знает!
Tuscany is a place where I will be back again and again… Who knows, may be one day I will call it my home?
